The two figures that are represented stand out in front of a dark backdrop. The shadow projected from their bodies splits away and lights up in the background. Upon observing the couple close up, we discover that they are engaged in a whirling dance. The man, seen from the back, is gripped by a woman who draws him near. We then discover a third figure between the two of them, perhaps Oedipus or perhaps none other than the reflection of the man’s face.
